'Real Housewives of New Jersey' stars' lawyer falsely claimed to be attorney: police

FILE - This Nov. 30, 2012 file photo originally released by Walgreens shows Chris Laurita, left, and his wife Jacqueline Laurita, of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," at Walgreens 8000th Store Opening in Los Angeles. Authorities say a man who told police that he was an attorney for the Lauritas falsely represented himself as a lawyer. RIDGEWOOD, N.J. - Authorities say a man who told police that he was an attorney for two cast members of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" falsely represented himself as a lawyer.

The Record (http://bit.ly/18cbHtz) reports 53-year-old Mark McGuire, of Franklin Lakes, was arrested last week and charged with unauthorized practice of law.

Authorities say McGuire spent more than 45 minutes with Jacqueline and Christopher Laurita as they were interviewed by police after an April altercation at a Ridgewood clothing boutique. Detectives later discovered McGuire had falsely represented himself.

McGuire was released. A telephone number for him could not be located Wednesday.

The Lauritas are due in court Sept. 26 in the assault case. The man who says he was assaulted by them is due in court the same day on related charges.
