FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The South Florida home owned by former teen idol David Cassidy has sold for just over $2 million.
Fisher Auction Co. spokesman Ryan Julison said a bankruptcy court approved the sale Friday. The sale of the 7,000-square-foot waterfront home should close within 30 days. The auction house wasn't releasing details about the buyer.
The 65-year-old Cassidy filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case earlier this year. He bought the Fort Lauderdale home in 2001 for $1.1 million. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom house was appraised at $1.9 million.
Cassidy's lawyer Susan Lasky previously said they were hoping to get more for the home to pay off creditors.
Cassidy starred in "The Partridge Family" television show.
