BETHLEHEM, Pa. - What happens when your college won't let you go on spring break? You bring spring break to your college.

About a dozen students at Northampton Community College in eastern Pennsylvania wore flip-flops, plastic leis and tank tops to class in a good-natured protest on Tuesday.

The school cancelled this week's vacation to make up for excessive snow days this winter.

Administrators say they understand students' frustration. So they joined in the fun, setting up a Tiki bar in the food court to serve nonalcoholic drinks with paper umbrellas.

College President Mark Erickson even wore a lei and played pingpong with students.

But all the festivities can't change the still-chilly weather in Bethlehem.

Efrain Lopez tells WFMZ-TV: "The drink's nice, but I'd rather be on spring break."
