LOS ANGELES - Superman will apparently be back in black.
"Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill posted a close-up image of a black Superman uniform Monday on Instagram . He's expected to return in next year's "Justice League."
Cavill's high-flying superhero — spoiler alert — met his demise at the conclusion of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" earlier this year.
The last son of Krypton was originally resurrected with a black suit after he was killed off in the comics in 1993.
Cavill wouldn't be the first Superman actor to sport a black uniform. "Superman Returns" actor Brandon Routh and "Lois & Clark" co-star Dean Cain also donned dark versions of the traditionally blue, red and yellow ensemble.
"Justice League" will unite Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg.
