A look at Canadian vacation property in U.S. funds

Realtors in Canadian resort towns say the low Canadian dollar is spurring interest from American buyers who are looking to pick up cheap vacation property north of the border. Here are some listings in Canmore, Alta., and Whistler, B.C., along with the conversion to U.S. funds.

Canmore:

— A 1,400-square-foot unit with two bedrooms, three baths and a wraparound corner deck. $549,800. About US$379,000.

— A 1,600-square-foot home with three bedrooms, three baths, a stone fireplace and south-facing windows with "stunning views." $799,900. About US$551,389.

— A 3,075-square-foot, half-duplex with three bedrooms, three baths, "soaring" vaulted ceilings and two fireplaces. About $1.2 million. About US$825,800.

Whistler:

— A 550-square-foot fully furnished condo with one bedroom and two baths. $425,000. About US$293,000.

— A 786-square-foot condo with two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, stainless-steel appliances and granite countertops. $715,000. About US$493,000.

— A 1,660-square-foot condo with two bedrooms, two baths and a wood-burning fireplace. About$1.1 million. About US$792,720.
