NEWARK, N.J. - Authorities have evacuated the control tower at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport because of a report of smoke in the elevator shaft.
Federal Aviation Administration deputy assistant administrator Laura Brown says air controllers are managing air traffic at an alternate site.
The FAA has issued a ground stop, causing delays for flights leaving and landing at Newark airport.
