FORT MILL, S.C. - The Latest on the shooting of a 14-year-old boy at the Carowinds amusement park (all times local):

4:40 p.m.

Authorities say a man angry that a 14-year-old boy was involved in an argument has been arrested after shooting and wounding the teen in the parking lot of an amusement park.

York County Sheriff's spokesman Trent Faris said in a statement that 22-year-old Brock Bewley-Goodridge was taken into custody Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he lives. The news release did not list a charge and it wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.

A police report says Bewley-Goodridge drove up to the Carowinds parking lot from a nearby gas station after telling a witness he was going to attack the teen. Faris says he was upset with an argument the boy was involved in.

Carowinds is located on the South Carolina-North Carolina state line, and authorities said the shooting happened as the park was closing.

Deputies say a 14-year-old boy was shot twice in the abdomen by a man who drove up and fired several shots at him in the parking lot of an amusement park.

The York County Sheriff's Office report said the man who fired the shots Monday evening drove up to the Carowinds parking lot from a nearby gas station after telling a witness he was going to attack the teen. The report noted that two girls were fighting near the teen when he was shot, but it didn't indicate whether the argument played a role in the shooting.

The report released Tuesday said the suspect fired several shots before driving off.

Neither the suspect nor the victim was named in the report. Paramedics said the teen suffered serious injuries, but there has been no update on his condition.

No arrests have been made. Carowinds is located near Charlotte, North Carolina.

Sheriff's deputies say a juvenile has been shot and wounded in the parking lot of the Carowinds theme mark on the South Carolina-North Carolina state line near Charlotte.

York County sheriff's spokesman Trent Faris says the shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. Monday in the bus drop-off and pickup areas on the South Carolina side of the park.

The teen was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. There's no word on his condition but Charlotte EMS officials called the injuries serious. His name has not been released.

Authorities are looking for a suspect.

Faris said the shooting appears to have stemmed from an earlier argument in the park.

He said the shooting happened as the park was closing, so there was no widespread panic.
