NEW YORK, N.Y. - George Saunders' "Tenth of December," one of the top-selling and most highly praised story collections in years, is a finalist for a $20,000 award for short fiction.

Saunders' book is among three nominees for the Story Prize. The other works announced Sunday were Rebecca Lee's "Bobcat" and Andrea Barrett's "Archangel." Barrett's collection "Ship Fever" won the National Book Award in 1996.

The winner will be announced March 5.

The Story Prize was established in 2004. Previous winners include Mary Gordon and Tobias Wolff.
