Feb. 4, 2013 - 2:19 p.m.

Police are asking for the public's help finding a 20-year-old man who was dropped off at the mall yesterday afternoon and hasn't returned home.

Tyson Blackplume-Schwartz was dropped off at Orchard Park Mall around 3:30 p.m. and was expected to walk home to his Rutland area home later the same day. When he didn't show up, his mother became worried and called police.

Tyson's mother told police that he's never failed to return home before and such an act is totally out of character. As well, she explained Tyson suffers from a variety of mental conditions and functions at an age much younger than his appearance.

Tyson is described as Aboriginal with fair skin, Caucasian in appearance, 6'6", 365 pounds, brown hair (shaved) and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black jeans, white runners, black, red and white T-shirt, black zip hoodie and a red bandana on his head with a red hat.

Nothing precipitated Tyson's disappearance and he has no history of going missing. He has been known to frequent the downtown area and has other family in the Mission. Tyson apparently went to the mall to meet up with friends and there is no indication as to where he might have gone afterwards.

Anyone with information regarding then whereabout of Tyson is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.

Kelowna RCMP are also asking for assistance locating a 49-year-old man who has been missing since April.

Mounties received a report April 30, 2012 of a missing person on the 1400 block of Cherry Crescent. William "Bill" Hermakin has not been seen since April 26, 2012 at around 10 a.m. Police say Hermakin picked up his ATV from a storage facility and left with it in the back of his truck. Hermakin is under medical care and requires medication for his condition.

The ATV was found, burned up at the Adra Tunnel on the Kettle Valley railway above Naramata. Later his truck was located near the old Bellevue Trestle. An investigation of both areas as well as the areas between have been conducted.

Hermakin is described as a Caucasian male, 5'9", 185 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a scar on his nose as well as both ears. He was last seen wearing a white and green dress shirt with blue jeans.

Police are asking hunters and hikers that frequent the area to keep an eye out for any signs of Hermakin's whereabouts and specifically any items resembling Hermakin's clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
