A Kelowna couple and their home will be featured in an upcoming episode of HGTV's Love It or List It.

Monique Karlstrom, an Okanagan College nursing instructor, and her husband Mike will be part of the Nov. 11 episode of the popular TV show, according to an Okanagan college media release, as they wrestle with the choice of renovating their Kelowna home or selling it.

The college is holding a screening of the episode to kick off a fundraising campaign for a bursary for nursing students.

“I have always had a passion for nursing and began my career in the profession at the age of 17,” Karlstrom said in the release. “Nurses dedicate their lives to help individuals and their families during their most vulnerable times. Each and every one of us will be touched in some way by a nurse throughout our lives.

“Some of those hundreds of students I’ve taught over the years would not have been able to obtain their nursing education without the help of scholarships, so I thought, this would be a fun way to raise some money for students.”

Tickets are free and can be reserved through Eventbrite here.

The college suggests donations be made for $20 or more, which will get you a tax receipt from the Okanagan College Foundation and build the bursary fund.

Doors open and a pre-screening celebration begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 11 in the college lecture theatre (S104) with beverages and snacks available for cash only. The screening starts at 7 p.m.
