VANCOUVER – The UFC is coming back to B.C. this summer.

UFC Fight Night will be televised live from Rogers Arena in Vancouver August 27, and will feature former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.

This will be the fourth time the biggest fight promotion in the world has visited the province, and they have launched a microsite providing pre-sale access to tickets and event related information.

In one of the evening’s confirmed bouts, former UFC lightweight champion and last-reigning WEC lightweight titleholder Anthony Pettis, 18-5, will make his featherweight debut against No.7 ranked contender Charles Oliveira, 21-5.

Garreth McLellan takes on Alessio Di Chirico are also confirmed to appear with additional bouts to be announced in the coming weeks. UFC traditionally likes local fighters to compete against a home crowd and four Kelowna fighters have been called to the octagon. Matt Dwyer, Sarah Moras, Shane Campbell and Rory MacDonald all have trained at Toshido MMA.

Tickets go on sale Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1855-985-5000, or online at ticketmaster.ca.
