SURREY, B.C. - Police say two pedestrians are in serious condition after a two-car crash in Surrey, B.C., caused one of the vehicles to hit them.

RCMP say the pair were at an intersection on Saturday around 6:35 p.m. when the crash sent one of the vehicles into their path, striking them.

Police say both pedestrians — a 50-year-old man, and a 50-year-old woman — were taken to hospital in serious condition.

They say both drivers remained on scene and are co-operating with police.

Police say alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in this collision.

The incident remains under investigation.
