Two people have been arrested in connection to the murder of a Kelowna teenager this past weekend.

Tristan Seeger, 15, was killed after being run over by a car in the Rutland neighbourhood on Saturday, Oct. 21. RCMP are investigating his death as a homicide which was associated with a nearby bear spray incident involving a group of teens.

"Investigators with our Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section are still collecting and processing vital pieces of evidence,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Michael Gauthier said in a media release issued today, Oct. 25.

“This is a sensitive homicide investigation. These investigations are lengthy and it is imperative they are done thoroughly.”

The two people arrested have been released from custody as investigators put together a disclosure package for Crown counsel, RCMP said.

Investigators have received support and cooperation from the victim’s family and witnesses.

No details about the evidence or the investigation will be shared with the public to “protect the integrity of the investigation,” RCMP said.

“Additional information will be released when it becomes both available and appropriate,” read the release.

A Celebration of Life for Tristan Seeger will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. More details about the funeral including where it will be held, have yet to be shared by the family.

Anyone with any information including video evidence is asked to phone the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or anonymously with Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestoppers.net.
