A Kelowna mother has announced the date of her son's funeral following a collision that led to the teenager's death this past weekend.

Paule Seeger will be hosting a Celebration of Life for her late son Tristan Seeger, 15, who was killed after being run over by a car in the Rutland neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 21.

Paule created a Facebook page to honour the memory of Tristan.

"He was so many things to so many people. He touched so many lives and found joy everywhere," Paule said in a post.

RCMP are investigating Tristan's death as a homicide believing the collision to be associated with a nearby bear spray incident involving a group of teens.

However, Paule said she doesn't want retribution.

"The best recourse for this senseless act is to find peace. To never forget his name and to grieve our boy's death with grace and kindness," she said. "I want no retribution. I want no vigilante justice. I want no one else to get hurt or in trouble."

Tristan's Celebration of Life will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.

More details about the funeral, including where it will be held, will be shared soon. Paule said it will likely be live streamed.
