Two people are currently in the hospital after their pickup truck lost control and rolled multiple times in Coldstream last night.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision in the 6800-block of Highway 6 in Coldstream.

At approximately 8 p.m. yesterday, June 17, police officers, along with personnel from B.C. Ambulance Service and the Coldstream Fire Department, responded to the location of the overturned pickup truck, according to a RCMP news release.

Witnesses at the scene said the pickup was travelling east on Highway 6 when it lost control and left the roadway, causing it to flip several times and it ended up in the ditch.

Firefighters extricated the two occupants of the truck who were then transported for treatment by B.C. Ambulance Service with non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 6 was closed temporarily in both directions to allow emergency personnel to work safely.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, and has not already spoken to investigators, to contact Const. Boudreau of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171.
