KAMLOOPS — Two people have been transported to the hospital after a shooting earlier this afternoon on the city's North Shore.
B.C. Ambulance media spokesperson Shannon Miller says they responded to a call at 3:54 p.m. on Tranquille Road with four ambulances.
"One [patient] was in serious condition and one was in critical condition," says Miller.
The matter is being handled by police, says Miller.
Kamloops RCMP has not offered much information but spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said police are investigating.
“The situation is still dynamic and fluid and the investigation is still in its infancy,” she said.
Interior Health also said in a tweet that part of the hospital is on restricted access due to the incident. The emergency room remains open but enhanced security is in place.
