Two officers injured during arrest of suspected car thief: Kamloops RCMP

Two police officers in Kamloops were injured when attempting to arrest an alleged car thief this morning.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle was parked in someone else's driveway at around 9:50 a.m. today, April 22, according to an RCMP media release.

Officers discovered a person sleeping in the front seat and found the license plates did not match the SUV.

A foot pursuit ensued when officers tried to arrest the man, and police say two officers were then injured in a struggle while placing the suspect in custody.

Paramedics took one of the officers to hospital, but both are expected to recover.

A 33-year-old man with multiple warrants was arrested and he remains in custody.
