TORONTO - Gone are the days when "Jersey Shore" pals Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi and Jenni (JWoww) Farley spent much of their on-camera time getting plastered in the clubs and hitting their "GTL" (Gym, Tan, Laundry) duty.

In their new 12-episode series "Snooki and J-Woww," debuting Thursday on MTV Canada, the two are relatively mellow as they move in together and navigate their way through Polizzi's pregnancy.

"We go through Nicole's first trimester and we're testing our relationships and seeing ups and downs and just being very supportive of each other," Farley, 26, said in a recent telephone interview from New York.

Polizzi, 24, confirmed in March she's engaged and expecting her first child with Jionni LaValle.

The pouf-haired, self-proclaimed "guidette" said she was a little tired during her first trimester but didn't experience morning sickness.

"You never really know what kind of parent you're going to be, especially when it's your first kid, you're just so excited just to meet your child because it's like a little mini-me of you, so I'm just going to give my kid a lot of love and take care of it and just try and be the best parent that I can," she said.

But has being an expectant mother changed the way she sees herself?

"No, because this is just me and I've always been very caring," said Polizzi. "I love taking care of others and putting people before myself, so it's just another stepping stone in my life."

As viewers of "Snooki and J-Woww" will see, Farley was stunned when she heard the pregnancy news.

"I honestly thought I was on an episode of 'Punk'd' for, like, the first five minutes because it was just unbelievable and crazy," she said.

"I got really nervous thinking that it wasn't going to happen, that we weren't going to move in with each other, but once it settled in and I realized that this is what Nicole wanted and everything started making sense, I was extremely happy for her."

"Jersey Shore" cast member Paul (DJ Pauly D) DelVecchio has also had his own spinoff, "The Pauly D Project," on MTV.

Farley said some "Jersey Shore" cast members will make cameos in "Snooki and J-Woww."

"I think it's the same as the 'Jersey Shore,' the only difference is it's like the deleted scenes from the 'Jersey Shore,'" she said.

"I feel like the producers wanted to do a show of ours together because of our dynamic, and even though you don't really get to see our dynamic that much on ('Jersey Shore'), they see it all the time behind the scenes. And because of that they know our relationship is best friends, (like) two sisters, older and younger, and we are very close and that's why they wanted to capture it on a spinoff."

"Snooki and J-Woww" will be followed by "The After Show," with host Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, on MTV Canada.
