Updated take on 'Match Game' shooting in Montreal, set to air this fall

June 28, 2012 - 5:19 PM

TORONTO - The "Match Game" is coming back.

The Comedy Network says it has ordered 60 new episodes of the campy game show, in which contestants try to match celebrities' answers to fill-in-the-blank questions.

Shooting is set to begin this summer in Montreal, with a premiere expected in the fall.

The original "Match Game" debuted New Year's Eve in 1962, and went on to enjoy an almost 30-year-run in various incarnations with help from regulars including Betty White, Bob Barker and Richard Dawson.

The Comedy Network says the hunt has begun for a rotating panel of six cast members with three semi-permanent positions and a host.

The specialty channel also ordered a "Just for Laughs" series drawn from this summer's comedy festival, with a fall airdate. Hosts will include Bill Hader, Joel McHale, Jack McBrayer, Jeremy Hotz, Jason Jones and John Pinette.

Meanwhile, CTV says it has ordered pilots for a half-hour scripted ensemble titled "Satisfaction" and a half-hour workplace laugher called "Spun Out."
