Chaz Bono in Toronto to shoot episode of 'Degrassi'

TORONTO - Chaz Bono is in Toronto to make a cameo on the teen drama "Degrassi."

He's playing himself in a scene with the transgender character Adam.

Bono says he was eager to appear on the show after meeting show producers at last year's Emmy Awards.

"Degrassi" was nominated for an episode that delved into the life of a teen who was born a girl but lived as a boy.

Bono says it's an important storyline that can help confused transgender teens know they are not alone.

The episode is set to air in the fall on MuchMusic.
