TORONTO - Montreal-reared actor-director Jay Baruchel has been living in Toronto for about a year now, but you won't catch him riding public transit, a la Rachel McAdams or Kiefer Sutherland.
"I wouldn't be caught dead on the TTC," he deadpanned Monday during an interview for his series "Man Seeking Woman," which will air its third season in winter 2017 on FXX Canada.
"I come from a city where the public transportation actually makes sense and actually functions. Do you know how many times the Metro has broken down in my life? Zero."
Fans who follow him on social media know he's a diehard Montreal Canadiens supporter, but has he become a Raptors or Blue Jays follower since living in the city?
"I was always predisposed to the Jays because we moved to Oshawa, Ont., when I was five and moved back to Quebec when I was 10. And in that five-year period it was the back-to-back World Series and I was also playing softball at the time," he said.
"So I was never an Expos fan. It was always, if it came to baseball, a Blue Jays fan. But that's where my Toronto sports team fandom ends."
