WEST KELOWNA - A truck was engulfed in flames on the Okanagan Connector near West Kelowna on the weekend.
A truck hauling a black horse trailer was engulfed in flames on the Okanagan Connector coming down Brenda Mines Hill at 5:20 p.m. on June 2. The trailer was also on fire and a line of flames trailed behind them.
There were no horses in the trailer, RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a news release. A man and a woman were able to escape the truck uninjured. The couple had dropped off the horses in Kelowna and were heading back to Prince George.
Since the fire was outside the West Kelowna Fire Rescue Department boundaries, RCMP could only monitor the flames to make sure they didn't spread to the nearby forest.
