Police have ruled an accident on the Halston Bridge this morning that sent two people to hospital a vehicle malfunction.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident at about 6:33 a.m. this morning on the Halston Bridge.

A young male driver was travelling west when the driveshaft of his truck released, causing him to lose control and roll the vehicle on the passengers' side.

While the vehicle came to a stop, the driveshaft continued spinning about 100 feet down the bridge.

The female passenger suffered arm injuries while emergency crews took precautions with the driver's spine.

Both remain in stable condition.
