A D.C. Chambers truck went off Highway 97 in Falkland Jan. 27, 2016 and struck a home.

FALKLAND - A truck knocked out power lines and drove into a house in Falkland this morning.
The incident happened Wednesday morning, Jan. 27, and resulted in Highway 97 getting shut down in both directions for about an hour. Detours were in effect on Church Hill Road, Ponderosa Road and Chase Falkland Road.
The DCT Chambers truck went off the highway and struck a home. What caused the crash, and how badly the house and truck were damaged, has not been reported. According to B.C. Hydro, the incident only caused outages for a handful of customers. Crews are on scene replacing a damaged power pole.
The highway was back open in both directions as of 9 a.m., however Drive B.C. was still advising motorists to expect delays as of 2 p.m.
