The inaugural ITU Multisport World Championship Festival will roll into Penticton August 18 – 27, 2017. In preparation for this World Championship event, the local organizing committee is inviting Penticton businesses to an information session at Cannery Brewing on Wednesday, November 23rd at 5:00pm. There will be an hour of networking and refreshments followed by a presentation at 6:00pm.

“We are excited about the potential for local businesses to be involved in the ITU Multisport World Championships Festival,” said Michael Brown, Executive Director, Penticton 2017. “We want to give Penticton businesses an idea of the scope of the event, discuss how their business will be impacted during the festival and finish the evening with a question and answer period.”

The 10-day event will see 5,000 athletes compete in six separate World Championships: sprint duathlon, standard duathlon, aquathlon, cross triathlon, aquabike and the coveted global title for long-distance triathlon. The international significance of Penticton 2017 means the region will welcome these athletes and up to an additional 2,000 spectators, media and members of the global triathlon family. The economic benefit to the region is expected to be in the millions.
