VERNON - A trial date has been set for Curtis Wayne Sagmoen on assault charges.

The seven-day trial is set for Dec. 9, in regards to two charges of assault and assault causing bodily harm. Sagmoen, who is also facing a series of charges relating to violence against women, appeared by video in a Vernon courtroom today, Feb. 11.

In December 2018, Sagmoen was given an absolute discharge on a mischief charge in Vernon. Sagmoen pled guilty to the lesser charge of mischief causing damage to property instead of the original charge of mischief under $5,000.

Sagmoen's family farm was searched in late 2017 where missing Vernon teenager Traci Genereaux’s remains were discovered. No charges have been laid in connection to her death.
