Nintendo is reinventing the Super Mario Bros. again by turning the beloved franchise into a full length animated film.
The first sight of the The Super Mario Bros. Movie teaser is of Bowser’s Kingdom, a hellish landscape ruled by the Mario’s nemesis. But a family-friendly tone is quickly set by a snowball fight with penguins.
Audiences are then taken to the bright and vibrant world of the Mushroom Kingdom. However Mario doesn’t appear to be in his element – the giant mushrooms, green warp pipes and a talking Toadstool all seem foreign to the protagonist. Yet, there is no hesitation to go explore the colourful new world.
Familiar voices in the movie include Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Seth Rogen.
It is expected to be released in April 2023.
