WEST KELOWNA - A man is out $150,000 worth of silver, gold and art after a break-in at a West Kelowna storage locker.

Kelowna RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in press release police were called Sunday, Nov. 12 to a rental storage facility in the industrial area of West Kelowna.

There they found a storage unit had been broken into and more than 5,000 ounces of silver and gold in various forms including cash had been reported stolen.

Also stolen was a rare acrylic sculpture entitle Eye of the Flame, O’Donaghey said.

Police say the complainant had been contacted by an alarm company on Friday, Nov. 10 about an alarm activation on his unit but had been unable to gain access to his unit until Sunday.
