Trans Mountain pipeline protester arrested in Kamloops

A protestor was arrested this morning after chaining herself to the gate of the Trans Mountain expansion project in Kamloops.

On Sept. 3, just after 6 a.m., the Kamloops RCMP responded to a report a woman had secured herself to a gate at the Trans Mountain expansion project off of Airport Road.

Trans Mountain security had allegedly tried to talk to the demonstration, but she refused to unchain herself from the gate, according to an RCMP news release.

The 32-year-old woman was eventually arrested by the RCMP for breaching a B.C. Supreme Court issued injunction against demonstrators who interfere with the project.

She is set to appear in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver on Oct. 5, RCMP said.
