RCMP STUMBLE UPON INCOGNITO GARDEN GROW-OP

KAMLOOPS - Rural RCMP busted a grow-op this afternoon hidden among the cabbage and tomatoes of a residence on East Shuswap Road.

RCMP attended a residence in the 700 block of East Shuswap Road, addressing a complaint before noticing marijuana plants.

RCMP discovered 39 plants ranged in size of up to one foot.

Kamloops RCMP Const. Bernie Ward said he is unaware of the maturity level of the plants — a factor in any potential charges that may be laid.

He said how much of the plants are usable is a determinate factor.

"The numbers (of plants) are relevant, but also the harvested amount," he said. "We have to get a professional… to say the exact amount."

The plants were seized on scene by police.

RCMP are continuing the investigation and note the residence is familiar to police.
