Three-vehicle collision in Penticton sends one to hospital

A driver was hospitalized following a three vehicle collision in Penticton last night, Dec. 10, 2019.

A three-vehicle crash in Penticton last night sent one driver to hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Railway Street and Duncan Avenue yesterday, Dec. 10, around 5:30 p.m. after three vehicles were involved in a collision, according to an RCMP media release.

It is believed a vehicle attempting to turn left onto Duncan Avenue from Railway Street failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle travelling north.

The northbound vehicle was unable to stop in time and collided with the vehicle turning left, police say.

A third collision occurred when the vehicle travelling north spun and collided with a third vehicle making a right turn on Railway Street from Duncan Avenue.

RCMP say two of the vehicles were extensively damaged and one of the drivers was taken to hospital.

The collision is under investigation.

Anyone witnessing the incident is asked to contact police if they haven’t spoken with them already and quote file 2019-21472.
