SALMON ARM - Slippery roads may have been a factor in a head-on car crash in Salmon Arm last night.
Salmon Arm RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott West says in a news release police responded to Highway 1 at the Salmon River Bridge at approximately 6:50 p.m., Nov. 5, for a head-on crash between two pickup trucks.
West says the investigation showed a westbound pickup crossed into the oncoming lane, colliding with the eastbound truck travelling into Salmon Arm.
He says both trucks were severely damaged and all three occupants in the vehicles were taken to hospital.
The westbound truck was driven by a 69-year-old Sorrento man, and the other was driven by a 33-year-old man who was accompanied by a 33-year-old female passenger.
"Road conditions were extremely slippery with the road covered in ice," West says in the release.
Salmon Arm RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
