Three charged with armed robbery after shots fired near TRU in Kamloops

Police cordoned off most access to a condo complex across from Thompson Rivers University after a shooting on Friday morning, Sept. 16, 2022.

Three men are expected in court tomorrow after an armed robbery near Thompson Rivers University.

Each of them are facing an armed robbery charge after a gunshot report in a residential complex on McGill Road, Friday, Sept. 16.

Kamloops RCMP responded to the 700 block of McGill Road around 7:40 a.m. where it appears a condo unit in the complex was targeted.

A window to a single residential unit was broken and police tape could be seen. It appeared to be the only unit with video surveillance on the outside of the building.

Three men were arrested while fleeing the area and two more were arrested later that morning, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn told iNFOnews.ca.

Police were on the scene for most the morning as they searched the condo building and the area for evidence.

Alexander James Zeballos, Kaleb Lawrence Conroy and Dylan Glaser are all still in custody until their first court appearances tomorrow.

They're each facing one charge of robbery with a weapon. Police didn't say whether any firearms were seized during the investigation. Cpl. Evelyn did say, however, no one was found to be injured after the shots were fired.

Zeballos, born in 1989, has no previous criminal charges in Kamloops but he's faced weapons charges for breaking and entering in the Lower Mainland dating back to 2013.

Glaser, born in 2002, has no previous charges in B.C., except for traffic violations in Maple Ridge, according to court records. Conroy has no previous court history in B.C. as an adult.
