Third victim in Kamloops hit and run dies from injuries

Kamloops RCMP say a man injured in a hit and run crash that killed two people earlier this month died last night in hospital.

On Nov. 3, a pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed failed to stop for a stop sign and hit a car that was driving on 1 Avenue.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene before emergency services arrived.

Two of the four occupants in the car, identified as TRU international students, died at the scene and a third man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to an RCMP news release.

Police say the victim, a man in his 30s, died last night, Nov. 12.

RCMP have identified the person who was allegedly driving the pickup truck and the investigation is progressing. RCMP say they are looking to speak to an unidentified woman who assisted in first aid at the scene. She was wearing a long white coat with black geometric designs on it.

Once all witnesses have been spoken to and all forensic evidence has been processed, police say they will then be able to forward information to the B.C. Prosecution Service who will determine charges.

The B.C. Coroners Service is also conducting a separate investigation to determine how, where and when the three victims involved in the incident came to their deaths.
