KAMLOOPS - If you live in Aberdeen or Sahali, you might want to inspect your vehicle — more than twenty of your neighbours lost expensive items to thieves last night.
According to Kamloops RCMP Const. Jason Epp, thieves were busy breaking windows and stealing whatever they could find.
"The thieves did not appear to be targeting any specific vehicles or items, but these thefts do appear to be crimes of opportunity where items were visible inside the vehicle and the windows were broken to gain access," he says.
They walked away with wallets, laptop computers, gas and credit cards, GPS and electronic devices and expensive cameras.
"All of the items taken were things that were easy to grab and conceal," he says.
How to prevent such thefts? Easy. Epp says don't leave stuff in your vehicle.
Anyone with information on these thefts is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) to remain anonymous.
