A worker in Abbotsford found himself high above the ground earlier this week when the bucket truck he was working from was stolen while he was still in the bucket.

On July 7, the bucket truck worker was doing repairs in Abbotsford about 20 feet in the air. While hoisted in the bucket, a man got behind the wheel of the truck and took off.

While trying to flee, the thief drove into the pole the worker was repairing, according to an Abbotsford Police media release. The truck stopped for a brief moment and the worker was able to remove his harness and jump down, sustaining minor injuries.

The suspect then continued on and hit a street light and a traffic pole, which damaged the bucket.

Officers found the truck nearby, although the suspect was gone.

With the help of the a police dog, they found the 33-year-old suspect trying to getaway in another vehicle. The arresting officers noted he was wearing a hat that read ‘Zero F***’s Given.’

Police are continuing to collect evidence to support criminal charges against him.
