A two-wheeled thief was arrested over the weekend after committing a break-and-enter, and police suspect he wasn't a first-timer.
Just before 5 p.m. on Feb. 2, a woman reported that a man had just taken off on his bicycle after attempting to rob her home.
"The owner said the suspect was inside the house, stole various items, and when she confronted him in the backyard, he dropped his back pack and left," said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk, adding the woman's laptop was among the items in the bag.
"A short distance away near 43rd Street and 24th Avenue, our officers arrested a 32-year-old male suspect who is well known to police," Molendyk said.
The man was arrested for break-and-enter and possession of a prohibited weapon. He is expected to appear in court Feb. 4 to answer to the charges.
Molendyk says police are investigating weather the suspect is connected with a rash of break-and-enters that has plagued the area for weeks.
