There have been multiple overdoses and fatalities related to a white substance being sold as cocaine across the Interior Health region.

It contains fentanyl and puts users at a high risk of fatal overdoses, according to a drug alert from the health authority.

“When using with others, take turns so you can help if needed,” the alert says. It remains in effect until April 20.
