PENTICTON - Several thefts from vehicles in the city last week have prompted a caution from Penticton RCMP.
“A number of vehicles have been broken into and rummaged through all over town,” Penticton RCMP Cpl. Don Wriggleworth said, noting the incidents appeared to be random and widely distributed. He reminds drivers to secure their vehicles and not to leave anything valuable inside.
Wriggleworth also reported a Braid Street homeowner reported Oct. 25 his vehicle had been rummaged and a cast iron fireplace and metal planter stolen from the yard.
On Oct. 31, a city resident had his vehicle’s side window smashed and ignition punch in an attempted theft that was interrupted. Bear spray and a machete were taken from the vehicle.
