A radio station in Kelowna has relaunched with a new name, featuring familiar classic and current rock tunes.

Today, Pattison Media relaunched CKLZ FM as 104.7 The Lizard, according to a press release from the media group.

"The familiar and beloved name was last used in the late 1980s and throughout the '90s in Kelowna. 104.7 The Lizard will continue to play the classic and current rock now heard on the frequency and is now branded The Rock of Kelowna," according to the news release.

"This heritage rock station has been part of the fabric of the Okanagan for decades and was Kelowna’s first FM radio station back in 1964."

The 104.7 frequency has long been Kelowna’s go-to rock radio station.
