Legendary Canadian musical comedy act known as The Arrogant Worms return are hitting the road and so far Penticton is the only stop in the B.C. Interior.

The Worms are back in B.C. with a tour that includes stops in Vancouver, Courtenay, Parksville, Victoria and Penticton.

The Arrogant Worms debuted on a Queen’s University campus radio show in 1991, according to a BC Alliance for Arts and Culture media release. The group’s songs were written to make fun of a big, dumb world and fortunately, the world is dumber than ever now.

Arrogant Worms Mike McCormick, Chris Patterson and Trevor Strong have plenty to sing about these days, the release says.

The shows are fast and funny with biting, quick-witted satire, with their musicianship second to none. The Arrogant Worms’ appeal has earned them fans across all demographics, from kids to grandparents, and even Canadian astronaut Chris Hatfield.

The Worms have sold 160,000 albums and have played on three continents, being recognized in 2003 as the “Touring act of the year” by the Canadian Arts Presenters Association.

The Arrogant Worms will be at The Dream Cafe in Penticton on March 11, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 and $40, and can be purchased at The Dream Cafe website here.

Here are a few of the band's classics.
