KELOWNA - The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art is hosting the inaugural Alternator After Hours: Banksy.

The event will be held on July 6 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Banksy’s work and create their own street art stencil. Guests will then make their own street art in Kelowna’s cultural district using the stencil and washable spray paint.

Tickets are $25 and include all the materials needed to create art and one drink ticket. A cash bar will be available.

The Alternator’s philosophy is to foster creativity across any social, economic or other barriers.

That’s why they ask anyone who is unable to be involved with the event due to financial reasons to reach out to the organizers, so that something can be arranged.

Further they offer the opportunity for those who want to support the Alternator but are unable to attend the event to purchase a sponsored ticket. The money from the ticket goes directly to the Alternator, and the ticket will be allocated to a member of the community who may face economic barriers to participation and would be otherwise unable to attend.
