TORONTO - Rising Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic will face Viktor Troicki of Serbia in his first match at the Rogers Cup in Toronto.
Troicki advanced Monday with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Alex Bogomolov Jr. of Russia.
Raonic had a bye in the first round.
In another first-round match, Jeremy Chardy of France defeated American Donald Young 3-6, 7-6, 6-0.
Chardy will take on No. 3 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, who defeated Raonic last week in the longest three-set match in Olympic history.
In doubles, Fabio Fognini of Italy and Juan Monaco of Argentina defeated the British pair of Ross Hutchins and Jonathan Marray 7-6, 6-3.
