Temperatures to hit double-digits in Okanagan this weekend

KELOWNA - It's going to warm up this weekend in the Okanagan, with a high temperature in the double-digits for Sunday, but we'll have clouds and showers to along with the milder weather.

We are in for a cloudy day today, March 9, with periods of snow mixed with rain beginning this afternoon, according to Enviroment Canada. This evening the temperature should drop to around freezing with periods of snow and rain overnight. We can expect up to 10 centimetres of snow by morning in the North Okanagan, while the Central and South Okanagan should only see up to 4 cm.

Tomorrow it will be a bit warmer, but snow and rain are expected. A high of 5 C is forecast for the North Okanagan with up to 5 cm of snow in the morning and showers in the afternoon. In the Central and South Okanagan a high of 8 C is predicted, with up to 4 cm of snow. Expect cloudy periods and a low of -4 C overnight.

The weekend is expected to be significantly warmer.

Saturday should see a high of 8 C with a periods of rain during the day and overnight. The forecast low is 3 C.

Sunday the precipitation should taper off, with a high of 10 C on an overcast day. Overnight the termperature will drop to 3 C, with a chance of showers returning.

Seasonal normal temperatures in the Okanagan are highs of about 8 C and lows around -1 C.
