Telus internet services are down today for a large majority of the Vernon area as well as West Kelowna.

A message on Telus' website says internet services for Vernon have been down since at least 5 a.m. today, April 20, with the Lakeview Heights area West Kelowna seeing its outage start at 8 a.m.

"We were notified by our network team that there is currently an issue in the Vernon area. We're already working on restoring services and will have everything back up asap," Telus tweeted in response to complaints from customers.

According to Telus, website services for West Kelowna are not due to be restored until late this evening.

Telus last updated its website regarding the Vernon outage at 9 a.m. and does not give an estimated time when it will be fixed.

One Telus customer in downtown Vernon said, after morning without service, their internet connection was back up and running shortly after 11 a.m.

In Vernon, Telus services impacted include cell and home phones, internet, and Optik TV.

In West Kelowna, home phones, internet and Optik and PIK TV are affected.
