KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Kamloops RCMP could release more details today about an investigation in that city involving several public school students, all under the age of 18.
Cpl. Cheryl Bush describes the incident as an exchange of inappropriate material.
She says officers are working closely with the Kamloops-Thompson School District and parents to ensure the safety of the children involved.
District Supt. Terry Sullivan says educators learned of the material on Friday and very quickly made the decision to call police.
He says the district is taking the matter very seriously and measures could include support and counselling for some of the youths, but the consequences could be more serious for others.
A police briefing is expected at the school board offices in Kamloops later this morning. (CHNL, CFJC)
