FILE PHOTO

Two Kamloops schools were placed in a ‘Hold and Secure’ after a suspicious person was spotted in the Valleyview area.

Valleyview Secondary School and Marian Schilling Elementary School were both secured after a suspicious person was spotted in the area this afternoon, Dec. 18, according to an RCMP media release.

Calls about the person came into Kamloops RCMP at about 1:10 p.m. today, Dec. 18. Numerous officers searched the area but left an hour later when they could not locate the person in question.

The schools have since been advised to cancel the ‘Hold and Secure.’
