The suspicious deaths of two people in Kelowna last week is now being investigated as a double homicide.

Two bodies were found in a home on the evening of June 8 in the 400 block of Swan Drive, according to a media release from the Kelowna RCMP.

A third person was found at residence and was transported to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries.

"Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, there are no outstanding suspects and there is no risk to the public," the release says. "The family in this matter has asked for privacy and the Kelowna RCMP is honouring their wishes and will not have further comment at this time."

Last week, police only described the two deaths as suspicious, and reported that a third person had been taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Members of the B.C. Coroners Service are conducting their own investigation into the deaths.
