KAMLOOPS - A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to robbing a downtown Kamloops bank yesterday.
Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush says police are still investigating whether this robbery and a separate robbery at the Howard Johnson hotel earlier this week are related.
Bush says the suspect in the Victoria Street CIBC robbery is known to police and will make a court appearance later this morning, April 12.
Police said yesterday that a lone man entered the CIBC in downtown Kamloops and demanded cash before fleeing on foot around 2:30 p.m.
A note taped to an inside door at the bank said the branch would be closed for the remainder of the day.
The CIBC Bank on Victoria Street in downtown Kamloops was robbed shortly after 2:30 p.m. April 11, 2017.
