PENTICTON - Both parties may be charged following a shooting incident in Coalmont on the weekend.

RCMP continue to investigate the incident which resulted in the arrest of a 58-year-old Coalmont resident after a 63-year-old man was shot in the arm.

Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in a press release issued this morning, Aug. 26, an altercation between the two men took place on a rural property in Coalmont, located around 20 kilometres northwest of Princeton at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Upon reaching the scene, police discovered a man had shot a 63-year-old man who had been driving his vehicle erratically on the property.

The driver suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries to his right arm and was taken to hospital.

The suspect, a Coalmont resident, was taken in custody and held pending a court appearance scheduled for today, Aug. 26.
